Big brother/last night episode, Omar and Rhianna

It's actually affected me to bad. For context I was in an abusive relationship 14 years ago (yes that long ago), both physical and mental it's taking me years to crawl out of my shell and become the woman I was once was he took a lot from me.

Last night triggered so much trauma I didn't sleep well, the way Omar whispered into Rhianna's ear, turning it all around like she was in the wrong for having emotions btw, the dead stair in his eyes, showing very little eye contact and raising his eyes whenever she cried, he spoke a load of bollocks. Of course I was shouting at the tv "stop saying sorry riri". I've seen a lot of woman and men complaining to ITV about it all. I believe he's straight up abusive, cohesive, manipulative and controlling, I'm ashamed with big brother last night, I've told my partner as much as love big brother if Omar and Rhianna kick off I'm turning it over it deeply affected me last night, it brought up my own trauma and yes I can "just not watch it" but no days are the same on that show and last night was a shock to the system.

Anyways now I've had a rant both here and my partner anyone else watching it?, how do you feel about them both?

Interesting, I also couldn’t sleep last night after watching it but I didn’t make the connection as to why. I was also in a very abusive relationship that ended a few years ago so maybe that’s what kept me up.

I found it particularly disturbing that after BB called Rihanna to the diary room to remove her from the situation, when asked what she wanted to do her concern was to do whatever was necessary to fix things and go back to how it was. That’s how control works. She doesn’t know if she is coming or going and doubts herself.

Even after Twinks and Cat had talked to her and she cognitively understood that Omar’s behaviour was wrong she was still willing to run back to him and apologise to him, accept she was in the wrong and needed to fix herself to make the confusion go away and get back to him telling her he loved her for supposed emotional security. Obviously he doubled down.

Twinks and Cat have good boundaries. Rhianna is willing to side with bullies for short lived protection and enter into a relationship with a man who controls and gaslights her. Maybe a privileged lifestyle with bodyguards has infantilised her and left her vulnerable. Maybe other reasons but she is vulnerable and would benefit from therapy to boost her self worth and establish healthy boundaries.

It was truly disturbing, he still continued in last night's showing, luckily it didn't prolong but I'm still ashamed with BB for not doing more. Rhianna doesn't seem to understand but as I've been in an abusive relationship myself you never see it only the outsiders.

I agree. I don't know why he's still there tbh. Having said that, I think BB is particularly unpleasant this year.

(Also interesting they chose to show it. I'm not sure what their end game is there. It was definitely not entertainment.)

The fact BB released a statement to say all contestant receive training etc is so confusing as to why they then show this guy being abusive. If they think he isn't, why do they keep airing only these conversations to make him look incredibly abusive?!
