Do I need HRT or antidepressants or neither?

I’m struggling with anxiety. It’s specifically related to my son who has just started year 7 and is having some friendship issues. I am ruminating and feel sad/ worried most of the time. He keeps saying he’s fine but there are signs he’s worried too and he’s had a few tearful episodes.
The reason I’m thinking it’s hormone related is that I’m always worried about something or another (this is just more pronounced than usual) It’s always worse before my period.
I’m not depressed but I’m just not finding much joy in life. I’m able to get up, go to work, cook dinner and perform all my day to day duties but most things feel like a slog.
DH is great and very supportive. He’s worried about DS too but not in the all consuming way I am right now. I feel frequently tearful.
I know friendships change a lot in year 7 and am trying to reassure myself it will pass but it feels a bit overwhelming right now.
I’m seeing the GP tomorrow and am not sure if I need some HRT or antidepressants or just need to get on with it.
My menstrual cycle has shortened and I’ve had the odd hot flush but I could cope with this if it wasn’t for the anxiety.
Any thoughts? Thanks

How old are you? Anxiety is a common peri symptom so if you're of the age then I would definitely try it

Bang on average age for start of perimenopause. Definitely worth giving HRT a go

Thanks. I think I’ll ask for this and at least give it a 3 month trial.
