Wanting roast beef tomorrow, we have an Aldi but never bought their beef joints. Are they any good, if so which one do you buy?

Had one for the first time yesterday as the last one we had from Tesco was tough as old boots.

It was really tasty and not chewy at all!

We’ve had a couple of great ones, and one like leather. Just luck I think.

I’ve bought 2 over the last 3 weeks and both have been nice

Aldi beef is generally outstanding. Their basic steaks put expensive ones to shame

So which cut do you recommend???

Why would Aldi be categorically better or worse than Tesco or Asda or Morrison?

Lamb also good from Aldi, I shop there for meat rather than Ocado …

Have their brisket every other Sunday. We don't eat much meat generally, but this is a family tradition so it's got to be good. Slow oven cook in a cast iron pot for the afternoon and it always comes out beautifully.

If it matters to you, animal welfare standards are mid-range at Aldi. I'm an Aldi shopper, but I buy meat from M&S or Waitrose.

Thank you, that's really good to know.
