Sore vulva after sex

Help lessen my misery!

On Thursday night I had sex for the first time in five years. Yesterday and today though my vulva has been so sore! It wasn't sore at the time, but yesterday morning in the shower it felt almost bruised, was uncomfortable all day and this morning's shower had the same result.
The sex wasn't uncomfortable at all. Google says it might be a latex allergy but I have never had a reaction to condoms before.
Does anyone know what else it might be? Everything is going through my head from some kind of STI to me forgetting how to do it right!

How old are you? I am not one of those people who accredits everything to menopause, but this is one of the main symptoms for me. Definitely worth checking with the GP if it persists. Sudocrem or vaseline or some other barrier cream will help lessen the soreness.

37, so not menopause related (I hope!). I might try some Sudocrem later if it's still hurting. I haven't got dressed yet today and will try to hold off on doing that to give it room to breathe! But it feels like it's really bruised 😢

If you have a shower, no soap or body wash or anything. Just water. Basic painkillers like ibuprofen or paracetamol. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Thanks. Yes I have had two showers since (yesterday morning and earlier today). First time showered as normal but this morning was just water down there. Less concerned with the pain and more with the fact that soreness has happened at all. Hmm.

I found i was sore the first time I had sex with a new partner (it had been a while). Completely fine after that! Not sure if it was just my body being all "what is this" and getting out the cobwebs 😂

Yes I did think that too! Have the mechanics of it changed since the last time I did it?! Has humanity evolved a different method? I hope not! And I hope it's not my genitals going 'What the hell is this?!: and pretending to be allergic.
