Ryanair flights with children since the changes

Has anyone flown with children on Ryanair since the recent changes and did not reserve seats? Changes happened in the summer I believe

We often travel 2 adults and 2 children. When we previously flew with Ryanair we got free seat bookings for one adult and 2 children and then paid to reserve for the 2nd adult.

It seems now they are saying they will seat the children next to one adult. However if you want to reserve you need to pay for seats for all 4 of us.

We were thinking of not reserving seats and then accept that one adult might be at the other end of the plane. For the adult that is with the children, what has your experience been? Did they seat you right next to your children or did the most awkward of all sitting behind each other or something of the sort.

Any real life experiences welcomed

Why. don't you do two bookings, one adult and one child?

I'm risking it and not paying. I don't mind being next to both kids if needs be and I'm not giving money grabber oleary anymore cash.

That's what we're thinking/planning. Being next to both kids works... We don't all 4 need to be next to each other, but hoping 3 of us are

We were going in the other side f this last summer. Paid for our seats and then all got split up because a family hadn’t booked and had to be sat together. I get that kids need to sit with A parent, but we paid to reserve seats and didn’t get a refund.

If you all want to sit together, reserve and book to sit together

I haven't flown since the recent changes but before they deliberately split you up. Whereas easyjet if you checked in early would sit 4 people together with no seat charges. I vowed never to fly with them again as it just seemed so shady. So happy to hear if it has changed.

Well we don't necessarily all want to sit together, hence why I am asking. One adult with 2 children next to them and the other adult at the other end of the plane is fine by us. I'm just trying to figure out if that is what they do.

They’re just as likely to sit you in 2 pairs, one adult with each child. If you’d be happy with that to don’t reserve. But remember ‘next to’ can be in front/behind or across the aisle from.
