Random assault not heard from police?

I was in a shop yesterday when a lady who appeared to be under the influence of something was being verbally aggressive / threatening to other members of the public in the shop unprovoked. She then turned her anger towards me I ignored her and she left the shop. She then followed me after I left the shop and attacked me. I ran to a different shop hid in their back room and called police but no one came she eventually left. I've reported it and was told to take pictures of injuries and that an officer is coming to visit me that day but they didn't. The day after I was told they are not visiting but will call me. And today still nothing.

I have no idea who this woman is or why. I've spoke to other shops nearby and they do have the incident on CCTV. Anyway what do I do? I don't know if I'm safe to leave the house is she trying to find out my name / address? and I worry if I'm out with my son she may see me and attack me.

Geez I am so sorry this sounds awful.

I would be making a complaint - thats not ok. Police need to take things like this seriously

I was assaulted at work by a man punching me and shoving me and kicking the living crap out of a male colleague we called the police who came after the man took off and took statements. Never heard anything after that, I called them for an update and it took them multiple calls to actually call me back.

The police knew who the guy was and had 3 addresses associated with him but a year and a half later still no arrest and not heard anything further from the police to be honest I got the impression they weren’t all that interested.

Still struggle with the mental aspect of that day every day at work, be kind to yourself and allow yourself to be upset or angry your feelings are completely valid xx

I'm so sorry that happened to you! It's awful how people can get away with it and remain on the streets being able to do it again to others. I felt ok straight after it happened but now it's been a few days I keep having thoughts of this person hunting me down.

@Icelolly101 I know but like yourself just an ordinary day with an absolute lunatic throwing a curve ball!

Of course you will especially being so random like that, it’s such a shock to the system you can’t rationalise those actions so you go into panic mode
