How would you spend £50 in Waitrose?

I have been given a £50
Waitrose voucher. I considered spending it on the normal groceries I usually get from Tesco and saving the £50 cash, but that’ll just get absorbed into day to day spending.

Instead, I’d like to spend it on some treats or delicious foods we wouldn’t usually have. Any recommendations?

Easily!

Any of the compotes, chutneys, fancy cheeses from the counter!

Perhaps a lovely wine and cheese night with some fancy crackers!!!

This is making me hungry :D Enjoy OP!

If you can find their tiramisu ice cream it is delicious.

Angela Hartnett Biscotti al Parmigiano Reggiano

I would buy a bottle of Veuve Cliquot.

Or a handmade sushi dinner and bottle of normal wine.

You can spend it in John Lewis as well, if you'd prefer some clothing or homeware.

Cashmere infused toilet roll.

Have a look on their website - they often do fabulous meal deals which are really good value for money.
I agree tho they have a great range of cheese so cheese and crackers and chutneys could be good

I like posh cordials to make really nice drinks in the months ahead…spiced blackcurrant with none of the nasties etc..

WhisperingAngelisnotbad · 13/10/2026 19:57

I would save it for Christmas and spend it on lovely Christmas food.

The No1. Asian dine in range is absolutely lush.

They have some good champagne offers on. Alternatively the Lugny cremant is £17 and excellent.

It was a joke, we saw some once in a Waitrose and bought it for MiL.

I’m sure she was delighted.

Thanks everyone, lots to look out for. I should have mentioned that I don’t drink, so no wine or Champagne. Just all the cheese maybe.

Then I’d definitely recommend some of the cordials, or a sparkling presse type drink!

You could make it all fancy and have it over ice in a nice glass + garnish!

Apparently the Ottolenghi ice cream (miso caramel) is delicious - perhaps you could have that for pud? :D

It would go towards a shop. So expensive these days.
