Will uncarved pumpkins last in the fridge for a week?

We go away for half term arriving home the morning of Halloween. Kids v keen to carve pumpkins that afternoon ready for trick or treating but I don’t want to risk none being available in shops. Do you think they’d last a week in fridge and stay firm enough for carving?

Absolutely! You must have a big fridge! 😅

Of course they will.

Pumpkins have very thick skins and are capable in the right conditions, of lasting months

An uncarved pumpkin should last through the winter on a kitchen table.

They don't need to be in a fridge just put them somewhere cool and make sure they are undamaged.

They don't need to be refrigerated - they aren't in the shops. Put them somewhere cool.

They’d last a month or more outside! I bought mine last day of September and they’ll be fine. After carving they’ll only last a few days. Don’t carve them they last weeks if not months!

Stick 'em outside, they'll be reet for ages.

The whole point of pumpkins is you can harvest them in autumn and eat them all winter. They don't need the fridge.

Just put them outside or in a cool shed (ideally where rats can’t get to them). We grow pumpkins and I keep them for a couple months for soup stored in the utility room.

They last for ages, supermarkets sell them well before Halloween. You won’t need to put them in the fridge.
