Dentist Teeth whitening

I’m keen to try teeth whitening with a dentist, the type where you have a mould made and wear it every night for two weeks with a gel.
The trouble is, I have been told that you must only eat fairly colourless food for the two weeks, otherwise your teeth will go with the colour of the food you’re eating, as the bleaching makes them more porous!
For anybody who has had this done, exactly how beige does my diet have to be? I really love food of all different colours!
Has anyone tried breaking the rules, and ended up with green or red teeth?

My dentist wouldn’t let you wear bleach all night. 2 hours is the longest he’d tell you to wear it to avoid messing up your teeth and gums. Do it once a week
until you’re happy with the colour. Other than turmeric, red wine, black tea and coffee he doesn’t require you to abstain from and food.

I had the gum moulds and bleaching product from my dentist. I wore the moulds at night. I wasn’t told to avoid anything in particular but was told that red wine and black coffee are the worst for staining teeth .

It’s one of the best investments I have made. The initial cost is a bit pricey but once you have the moulds made topping up with the bleach solution from your dentist is very reasonable. I just avoid curry, tomato based dishes, red wine and black coffee for a couple of days after bleaching.
I was deleting photos in my phone last night and came across some before and afters. The difference is amazing and I think it makes me look younger!
one word of warning- don’t wash your moulds in very hot water! I melted mine and had to purchase replacement ones. I soak mine in a denture tablet solution overnight then store in their case ready for the next session in approx 6 months time.

I had the same type of whitening last year and the only thing my dentist said was to avoid drinking lots of coffee (like more than 2-3 a day), she didn’t say anything about food.

For those who have invested, how much dis it cost please?

Ok so I’m not sure if the UK is different but both my husband have had this done - so worth it btw and we weren’t told to avoid anything but red wine and to brush our teeth after coffee.

I got my gum shield thing last month £160.00 for top and bottom £40,00 for whitening solution.
worth every penny.

I wasn’t told to avoid anything. I wore them to go to bed and took them out during the night if I woke up. Really pleased with the results. No change for a few days and then suddenly a big improvement.

What sort of price?

How much?!

Mine was before composite bonding, the two things were about £500 altogether and I was very happy with the results. Things that actually work cost money and things that don’t work (or work but damage your teeth) are a tenner from an import shop. 🤷‍♀️
