Legoland at Christmas (Windsor)

Has anyone been to this? Apparently some rides are closed but there are special performances/a parade etc. I know you have to book to see Father Christmas separately/at extra expense.

Would you recommend it for a 6yo? How busy was it?

I have a choice between going to the Christmas event (which would be on a weekend in December) or going on an inset day (Friday) in October.

Any thoughts/options would be welcome

Legoland is rubbish these days. Between queues and ride closures you barely get on anything. Drayton manor was good at Christmas if you want that sort of thing.

I agree with PP.
our last trip, the whole place was run by teenagers or retired people possibly because LL can’t retain any working age staff the treatment is so bad.
If you’re staying onsite, expect minimal staff, rubbish food, barely anyone clearing up and long queues.
That said, I’m not sure my kids noticed as the place is pretty cool. Go with very low expectations!

It’s absolutely dreadful. Don’t do it.

It’s really bad expect very long queues, several rides to break down and get closed and kids crying at the end of the day because they’ve only been on a few rides in 8 hours if it’s anything like when we went in the summer 😪
Even a coffee is £5 and there’s nowhere to sit if you bring your own food or drink.
Go literally anywhere else that’s what I’d say 🙂

Glad it wasn't just me that thought it was dire.

If you want Lego the discovery place in Birmingham is brilliant. Think it's run by Lego rather than Merlin. There's only one tiny ride but you can easily spend hours there with a Lego lover.

Hi op whilst I would normally agree with the pp I have to say I always found it alright at Xmas ?

Nice decs and ginger bread making we etc
Op I wouldn't travel miles for it but it was ok.
Longleat was always good though .

We’ve always enjoyed it at Christmas. Enough rides are open to make a day of it, the Santa experience is brilliant, there’s always a bit of Christmas craft to do and you get a Lego decoration to take home, we’ve always liked it.

Ha, I've been before and actually liked it (although that was during term time tbf). It's sounds like the Christmas opening might be the way to go...
