£70 to visit Cornish Seal Sanctuary

£70 for a family ticket. That’s the same as some small theme parks. I’m not doubting they do incredibly good works, but if I’m thinking of it as somewhere to visit with the (primary aged) kids, at that price it needs to fill a whole day!

Has anyone been? Is it worth it?

The fact the ticket allows re-entry within 12 months is no value to us. We live too far away.

In good weather you can spend a good chunk of the day there. There's a playground and you can wander the grounds. There is a cafe but many families bring a picnic.

Think of it as a nice day out in the countryside with added attractions. It's not comparable to a theme park because your ticket price is helping the seal rescue effort.

Have a search about online for vouchers and discounts, they can be found.

It’s a whole day out if you have a leisurely morning and get there for 11. The money funds wildlife and is an eco friendly day out that the kids will love. I’ve just bought 3 ticket to Chessington as a treat for my daughter and that set me back £117!

They do good work, but I agree. We live locally and went about 8 years ago on a half price local ticket thing and for £25 for the family it was great.

Unless you're willing to donate the extra 50 to saving seals it's very poor value these days. A lot less to see and do now too apparently.

I’ve just paid £85 for an aquarium, I guess these things are expensive to run but it does mean we go to fewer of them.

Yes I’ve paid it and it’s a good day out. We take a packed lunch with us and stay the whole day. Buying online saves a bit of cash.
