I lost my mum four months ago and I’m really struggling today, I just yearn for her and feel so lost.

I’m so sorry. It must be so difficult to lose your mum. Can you call a good friend to have a cup of tea with and some support?

I'm really sorry to hear about your mum. We are here for you if you'd like to talk about her xx

Thank you I just keep expecting her to message me as we used to chat all day on WhatsApp. The amount of things I want to tell her.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m 6 months down the line and still struggling daily. Someone suggested to me writing a letter to my mum with all the things I wanted to tell her, and tbh I thought it was a daft idea as she wouldn’t be able to read it. I gave it a go though and it’s been really helpful. I go in now and again and add a few more updates and sometimes just read it. It’s strangely got those thoughts out of my head and kind of given me some comfort? Just a thought.

I’m nearly two months on and it’s so hard. I have good days and bad days. I find getting outside helps - natural daylight lifts my mood, especially as the days are getting shorter.

I'm so sorry for your loss. You're going through a terrible experience but it's one so many of us will recognise and feel such empathy for. You are not alone and everything you're feeling is so understandable.

It's trite to hear it now but it will get better and one day you will realise that this new way of being is becoming more familiar. The loss will always be there but will become more bearable.
Can you write things down that you'd tell your mum? Until the last few weeks when I was with her all the time, I spoke to my mum every day and most nights and we never ran out of stuff to say, so I know exactly how you feel. Writing to her helped a bit in the first stage of grieving. It is years now since she died but I still talk out loud to her at times.
Be kind to yourself through this really challenging time and remember how much she loved you and would want you to be happy again one day ❤

Aww I’m so sorry for all of you that are dealing with the loss of your Mum. It isn’t something I have encountered yet So I can only imagine how painful it must be. I hope you all have some support in real life as well and that you can have a peaceful day.

I used to chat to mine for a long while after she died. Initially while I was at hers clearing the house out, and then once that was done just sometimes when I was home alone and doing the washing up or something.

I'd fill her in on what was going on, outlives, her friends etc. sometimes ask her advice and talk the options through with her. It's been 7 years now and it's still something I do once in a blue moon, most recently while driving home after dropping DD at university.

Thank you my daughter has just started at Uni too and my mum would have loved hearing all about it.
