Parents and tech - what do you let slide?

My mum uses a Pepe Le Frog clapping meme regularly that she probably didn’t realise has alt-right associations. I’m guessing she has seen it a lot from friends because it has connections with Hong Kong resistance but I doubt she knows that either and is just copying. (She’s too anxious to outwardly display a political stance.) I finally told her and she hasn’t replied so I think I’ve offended her. Wondering if I should have just kept letting it go.

Does anyone else have others?

I would have let it go - purely as I did not realise the connections myself!

If your style of writing was the same as the above then yes she’s probably offended, you come across as quite patronising.
sorry but you do. 🥺
