Pearson Question?

For anyone who works at a PEARSON VUE Test Centre or who knows anyone who does:

I’ve got a bit of social anxiety so I find test centres slightly daunting. Just last month, I went into a Pearson Test Centre to sit an exam. They made me look up into a camera for some reason and then sit on a stool in front of some sort of camera. I don’t know what they did with that because I can’t remember if it flashed or not. But, anyway the staff were okay.

However, I have another test coming up next month and I need to go to the exact same test centre!

I’m a bit worried that the receptionist who I booked in with or the person who was invigilating the room from behind the screen will be there again and think it’s weird that I’ve come again or gossip about me.

Please can you tell me whether they’d likely remember me?

Also, please can you just tell me if the room in which you do Pearson Tests has people doing loads of different tests like for driving tests, university admissions (UCAT, LNAT), healthcare qualifications or if everyone in the room does the same thing?

Finally, can you please tell me why they make you look up in the camera and sit on a stool? What kind of mechanism for identification is that?

Highly unlikely to recognise you, they have hundreds of people going through tests every day. The photo will be part of the security checks for identity to make sure you haven’t had someone take the test for you.

They probably won't recognise you, but even if they do, they're unlikely to care why you've come again. They're extremely unlikely to gossip about you - in the nicest possible way, you are probably not that interesting!

The camera thing is just for ID. Nothing to worry about.

And yes, our local test centre has people doing various types of test.

I think you're overthinking it OP. Good luck with the test!

I would imagine there are several different tests all going on at the same time, that’s no different to a school were several subjects and levels will be sat at the same time.

Please give the invigilator some credit, they are well trained and professional in what they do.
