Hello. I am involved in a big and stressful project at work. It isn’t going well and causing me huge amounts of stress/ anxiety, even on my day off (today!). The factors causing the project to fail are external and can’t be helped.

Any quick tips on how to switch off from this and enjoy my day?!?

Have you considered "allocating a time to worry" about this? It may sound counterintuitive but as today is your day off, keep saying to yourself, no, I'm not going to think about that today. I will think about it at 10.00 on Tuesday for 30 mins.

Also, when the worrying thoughts pop into your head, think am I at work today & being paid to worry/consider this? If the answer is no, park it and distract yourself with something else.

If the problem is all consuming and you can't switch off as above, consider having some support/mentoring/coaching at work about the issue.

If this is a one off in this job, then time will pass and things will get back to normal.

If, however, it is more likely to be a permanent state of affairs then perhaps thinking ahead to possibly working somewhere else is a good idea.

You only get one life, and, honestly, it's not worth wasting it on worrying about someone else's crappy company.

Is the owner of the firm worrying about this? Probably not. If so, I wouldn't
