Want to watch a spooky movie with my teen daughters tonight, any suggestions, they are 13 & 14! Youngest is interested in Salem witch trials but can't see anything like that?

You can't go wrong with any if The Conjuring movies.

Hocus Pocus. The Craft is fave of mine but they might be little young for it. The entire Twilight set is on Netflix.

Sleepy Hollow I love that film as we as Hocus Pocus. I hate scary films, these are my go to.

LumpkinPumpkin · 10/10/2026 18:12

The Craft!

I loved it as a teen!

A film club near me is showing a film called Practical Magic soon. Don't know if it's any good but looks interesting

Depends on what you and they are comfortable with but Sleepy Hollow suggested above is quite tame and a really great film. First Practical Magic is fun and lots of spell casting but not that scary. For teen stuff I would suggest that or The Craft as others have but if they haven’t seen Twilight films yet they were watched on repeat in my house!!

By 13 my teens had watched:
The Shining (fairly terrifying)
The Others
Let the Right One In (original though think there was an English language remake)
The Woman in Black

I’m a horror fan (don’t like sadistic gore) but quite relaxed about what mine watch within reason. The ones I’ve mentioned above are not what I would call spooky but jump scares and behind cushion moments though nothing that appeared to traumatise.

Hocus Pocus is brilliant but a bit young perhaps for 12 and 13 more like Goosebumps.

Have a Buffy fest!

Or watch the original film of Buffy the Vampire Slayer? (I came on to say Hocus Pocus, as others have done.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions, I think we're going to go with the craft but I'm going to be referring back to this thread for the rest of the month for our movie nights!
