When to send wedding card

Received an invite but for various reasons I’m not going. I have got them a card with a voucher inside.

Do I send it so it arrives just before or just after? Not sure if they’re off on their honeymoon straight after.

It used to be that cards received from people unable to attend were read out during the wedding reception, so I’d always send before, but I don’t think people even do this any more tbh.

I would make sure it arrives a few days before the wedding. I think it’s like a birthday card and means nothing if it’s received after the event.
