Not pregnant.

I was started on zoladex to make me menopausal/stop my periods in July by gynaecologist; hopefully having endometriosis excision surgery next spring. Have had a uterine biopsy, told that was normal, ultrasound and MRI. MRI I won’t get results until December they said.

second injection was done of middle of September as there was a delay .

I’m bleeding, started a period 2 days ago. I’ve been in agony now for 30 hours, unable to sleep, rest or move much. I’ve phoned 111 twice, spoke to GP and a nurse. GP said ‘it’s just a bad flare, take paracetomal.‘

Nurse told me to take naproxen and sleeping aid and try and relax

I’ve had -

iburpfoeen
naproxen
cocodamol 30/500
gabapentin

no difference whatsoever, it’s all internal pain in my vagina/cervix and rectum as if all my muscles have gone into a lock/spasm.

im also now soaking through maternity pads, and passing clots.

crawling around the house and doing figure of 8 circles/groaning to try and get relief.

it’s that sore I feel like ringing 111 again, but they’ve said there’s absolutely nothing anyone can do? ‘you won’t get any different pain relief, if it’s a period it’ll stop within a week or two.’

I thought zoladex was meant to make you feel better..

Bump for you

ToKittyornottoKitty · 09/10/2026 21:45

How fast are you soaking through the pads OP?

WellThatIsABitMad · 09/10/2026 21:45

I would go to A&E yes, that level of pain is definitely not normal.

I'm on same drug and not bled since 2nd injection. I'd seek further advice and sorry you are going through this

How fast are you soaking through the pads OP?

Changed it about 8pm, stood up and realised flooding but it’s like the lilets maternity ones (they’re much longer)

I think I’d go to a&e if I were you. If it turns out they can’t help then they’ll send you back home but at least you will have tried, and your situation is quite extreme it’s not like you’d be time wasting

TeenLifeMum · 09/10/2026 21:50

With this kind of thing I’d rely on gut and I’d say your gut is telling you something is wrong so I’d get it checked out and you wouldn’t be on the unnecessary visit list. Father bringing daughter in with a verruca goes on that list - actual A&E visit we had when I was working in the dept a few weeks back.

Tel12 · 09/10/2026 21:51

Go to a and e

fashionqueen0123 · 09/10/2026 21:54

Don’t tell them you have a ‘period’ . Tell them you have abnormal bleeding.

Can you actually get to a&e, do you have help? Is someone with you. Im worried you could pass out.

LittleWeirdo · 09/10/2026 22:28

Definitely go. That doesn’t sound like it should be anyone’s normal. I hope they can help you.

Ooih · 09/10/2026 22:31

If there is significant blood loss there is something that can be done i think, to stop the bleeding and to deal with the effects of significant bleeding

TheSmellOfSea · 09/10/2026 22:32

I agree it's abnormal bleeding. Hopefully you've gone to a&e?

BinNightTonight · 09/10/2026 22:36

A&E.

Lougle · 09/10/2026 22:44

You need to have the bleeding assessed and to be given pain relief. That's A&E's job.

Sunshineandrainbow · 09/10/2026 22:47

Please go to hospital and be assessed
