Has anyone else a job and not worked their notice?

My job is having a massive impact on my mental helath. It’s genuinely horrendous. I’m in a final interview stage between me and one person .. so I’m hopeful I’ll have a way out.

I know I don’t have the job yet but the thought of working my notice period (3 months) makes me feel sick. I’m on the verge of walking out as it is.

How much does it affect you if you don’t work it?

Kick back and take things very very easy

I've never not worked my notice, i'm also usually on 3 months. I have negotiated an early release, and when you add holiday time in too it brings it down.

I know someone who was signed off sick with stress for their notice. It was only a month though and sadly they did not have a new job to go to.

Back in the 70's I was sent home to change because I'd worn trousers to work (I know!). I went home - and just stayed there.

However, depending on your role, it could have a hugely detrimental effect on your future employment if you need a reference.

I feel for you, my own mental health forced me to retire early from a job I hated. I'm skint but free.

Hold your nerve - best of luck with the current interview process.
