Washing saviour needed!

Help! Husband has done the washing and has washed my beautiful, pure wool light periwinkle coloured top with very dark green crushed velvet which hadn’t been washed before.

He protests that he did it on a cold wool wash but I told him he’s reckless and my top, which was previously vibrant, has taken on a grey hue.

Is there anything I can do to save it? Thank you x

I’m gutted, I’d pined after that top for about a year before finally taking the plunge 😔

No, it's done. Chalk it up to experience and ask him to replace the item?

I would exact revenge on the crushed velvet - that in itself is a crime against humanity and not seen since circa 1986.

Oh no. RIP beautiful top. I doubt there is anything that will save it now, especially since it’s likely very delicate 😔. Yes I’d be asking him to replace.

Did he go pull it out of the wardrobe and wash it with no warning or was it in the hamper with the other clothing that needed washing?

i know that doesn’t fix your garment, but you can’t blame him if it was with the laundry.

You can try dying it with Dylon if they have the colour. If it’s shrunk or lost its texture it’s gone.

I would wash it again with a scoop of napisan and see what happens, its worked on greyish light garments for me before.

Maybe Colour Catcher?
Let us know what you did and results, please.

Wash imnediately, gently with a colour catcher
I would pop in a bowl and let it soak first
This is why we do our own laundry in this house
