Not weird, no. But perhaps it might be better to push through a bit, still have an early night but sleep through until morning?

JustWalnut · 08/10/2026 18:17

I would. And sometimes do.

maddiemookins16mum · 08/10/2026 18:17

It’s unusual if not unwell. If I went now I’d be wide awake again in 6 hours.

I often get into bed in the evenings but I rarely lie down to sleep until normal times.

Rubydobydo · 08/10/2026 18:23

I think people have a weird fixation on bed and sleep happening at fixed times. I’ll admit that I now fall in with my DH, but years ago I worked shifts and had a full-on social life so sleep often happened when I could fit it in. You get used to doing so quite quickly. My shifts involved working to from 3 to 11pm, travelling home, and being back again for 7 until 3pm on a 5/7 rota. So I slept properly every other night, often until it was time to get up for the 3pm shift.
Even now I’m often awake for a period in the middle of the night, especially if we’ve had an early night. Sometimes I watch TV until gone midnight and sleep until 7am. If I need to be up, I can get up.
As long as you’re getting enough, just go with what you need.

ThirdStorm · 08/10/2026 18:26

I’m cold and tired and could do the same, so I’ve compromised, I’ve had a bath and out on my PJs and will watch tv for a bit. I’m yet to eat so should do that too!

Fortyfirstelephant · 08/10/2026 18:29

Snuggle up 🤗

Teenagerantruns · 08/10/2026 18:30

Not werid bed is nice, l often get in bed early and read my book, its the same as sitting on sofa and watching tv

ClaudeHopper · 08/10/2026 18:32

It would be weird for me. I don’t need much sleep, so I’d be wide awake in 5 or 6 hours. One of my sisters however, could go to bed now and sleep for well over 12 hours.

Springbuck · 08/10/2026 18:32

I’m in bed with my fur throw and a cat making biscuits on it.
I often come to bed at this time, I won’t sleep until much later though. I just enjoy me time so I can read or MN in peace.

PlugUgly1980 · 08/10/2026 18:32

I’m off to put my PJs on and get cosy in bed. We’ve water. DH is out and teenagers are each in their rooms doing homework or gaming, so no one will even notice I’m in bed. Probably wont fall asleep sleep for a couple of hours, but that will still be a nice early bedtime.

Purplecatshopaholic · 08/10/2026 18:32

I’d get into bed (with my dogs), watch something on the iPad and just chill. Sleep will happen later. Lovely.

Vicliz24 · 08/10/2026 18:33

When I feel this way i usually have a bath to warm up then go to bed about 8.30 . I can sleep through after 8 .

Bed is my favourite place to be. Could you go and read or watch tv or something in bed to chill?

GordanoServices · 08/10/2026 19:02

I would. Take a cup of tea, read for a bit and listen to the radio. Sounds lovely.

Goldengirl123 · 08/10/2026 19:03

Go to bed and snuggle down with a book. You don’t need to sleep

Pieceofpurplesky · 08/10/2026 19:03

I love being in bed with a book and a hot chocolate! Especially now it's dark outside.

fumingrightnow1 · 08/10/2026 19:42

Im in bed I couldn't hold out any longer. Night

If I sleep that early I would definitely be awake at 1am, but I do enjoy a long bath before bed or getting in bed and snuggling up to watch a film.

fumingrightnow1 · 09/10/2026 07:07

Ive just woken up by alarm slept through as my mum use to say must off needed it
