What things keep you occupied when you're unwell?

I'm two antibiotics in with tonsillitis. I had to call in sick to work yesterday and will be today, probably tomorrow too, depending on how quick the antibiotics take to kick in.

My throat feels like I'm swallowing a mixture of broken glass and very sharp knives. I'm currently waiting for my painkillers to kick in with a honey drink so I can sleep again.

When you're unwell and not sleeping, what do you do to occupy your brain? I feel really rough with it so nothing too taxing, but I'm usually very active and although I've literally taken to my bed, is there anything else I can do that isn't reading and watching TV, or will it just exhaust me and make me feel more frustrated that I'm ill?!

I'm not a good patient either. I'm feeling really guilty about being too ill to work and the pain is so sore at times, I do have little cry in complete self pity 😆

Thank you 🥺

Sorry you’re feeling unwell. Honestly I think easy tv and easy reading is all that’s needed! Or just lying dozing with the radio or a podcast on. I never have the chance to do that kind of thing as much as I want to, so I’d relish it!

When it's full on at work, the idea of some time away where we can do as we please sounds attractive. The circumstances for you are dictated by the fact that u are unwell. It's not a couple of days to do as you please. It's time to rest and recuperate. I understand how u feel. I have terrible sciatica pain. I not been able to work for weeks and don't get paid!!! I typed in wordsearches, then there was a puzzle that was like a maze- that kept me entertained. How about searching for something on BBC sounds? I have listened to Lady killers - quite interesting. I also watched a few episodes of Pop quiz with Ken Bruce. Might try a jigsaw today. The lack of face to face interaction is getting on my nerves. Hope u feel better soon OP.
