Especially as a potential co-signer and for people on benefits?
Basically(and I agree it's a mess) Son and bf need to get out of his flat(its a charity tenancy and they are keen to move the next person in) Both are on benefits(and this isnt a discussion about why they dont work) We only met him today, its a new relationship. He hasnt a relationship with family. Originally they said they were getting rejected because they hadnt got guarantors. We said we'd look into it, but are reluctant, especially for a stranger. An option might be a commercial guarantor company, but looking into it, they may not get it, there's still might require a co-signatory, which still could put us into financial peril. My feeling (and this takes into account many things) are I am reluctant to put my savings(we are pensioners) at risk. We have done a fucking lot to support him. Many would have cut him loose years ago.I dont feel inclined to support a total stranger. But, if we dont, they could be homeless.
So, sorry, long post. Has anyone had to deal with guarantor companies and especially if you are on benefits, how was your experience?
