Mouse or Spider? Or something else?

Just saw a Hunter Spider go under our bed. Not much of an issue.
BUT if it had been a mouse...I would be losing my mind.
Why do we have different fears and reactions to different things?

Much prefer spiders. Mice need to be outside 👀🤣

Nah I’d take mice over spiders any day. My cat was playing with something early morning last week about 6am in the bedroom. I couldn’t hear it squeaking so thought well it’s either a dead mouse or a spider. So at 7am I got up had a look around. No body. Well it must have been eaten or left. Put on my oodie which was on the floor and a dead mouse fell out of the sleeve when I put my arm in. Poor bugger must have gone in for die.

DS found a live mouse in the toe of his trainer when he went to put it on!
I can and do deal with mice better than our cats but I am a total wimp about spiders. If I knew a big one was under the bed, id probably sleep in a different house room
Unfortunately the cats are useless at catching spiders as well

But why? Why can I cope with a massive hairy spider under my bed BUt my best mate would be completely out the house? And 100% the other way round...

I am scared of spiders and not mice. But seeing a spider would freak me out less because if you see a spider that means there is one spider in your house. If you see a mouse...
