Where do you usually shop? What sort of clothes do you like? How tall are you?

For basics I really like Uniqlo and they have a service that will take trousers up for you so they are the right length. Lots of colour options too.

I’m slightly taller but have never had an issue buying xs. I never wear tracksuits but maybe google petite tracksuits rather than xs.

CurlewKate · 06/10/2026 14:16

Presumably you wear clothes normally?

bananaapplepears · 06/10/2026 14:21

Doesn't everywhere do XS? What size are you in dress sizes?

Do you mean x-small or x-short?

They're not the same thing.

I but XS in Zara and Stradivarius

HildaGribblethwaiteLives · 06/10/2026 14:53

Presumably you wore clothes before you were pregnant? Wear those.

They even do XXS in some stuff, plus age 13 fits me, I’m 5 2.

They don’t, also some places are making clothing so large that it’s just impossible to find anything that fits if you are genuinely petite, I tried on a size 8 coat in Matalan last week and it must have been the equivalent of a size 14, I looked comical, as if I had put someone else coat on.

Not sure if OP is also petite in height also, but the petite ranges do occasionally have odd proportions.

Ah, that's a slightly different question then.

I'm very far from XS, but I hope you can get some good advice from people that are. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I am a size 8 and short myself and find most places do XS. If not you can try kids. I wear M&S kids sometimes. Not all kids stuff looks childish. They have clothes that are plain so not childish.

I’m a size 6/8 and every single shop in the UK sells that size… it’s not hard to find.

Now if you mean petite because you’re very short try M&S, Karen Millen, Whistles, Abercrombie.

Online, PixieGirl does clothes for 5’3 and under with X short legs (up to 27in)

They do XXS. If you’re an 8, you shouldn’t really have too much issue buying clothes anywhere as it’s a standard size. It’s the height that’s an issue probably (I’m taller than you so don’t often find it a problem), but at your height it will be more difficult. M&S does an extra short length which might be useful for you. ASOS has a petite range, so does Reiss, J Crew, Whistles, Reformation
