This is really boring, but oh my life, what has happend to the price of kitchen bins!

I have a tiny kitchen and I'm getting so fed up with hanging a bag on the outside of a cupboard door for rubbish. It looks a mess and I really dislike it. My under sink cupboard is the only place for cleaning things/washing powder so no room there. I've had to take out some kitchen cupboards just to fit in a table to eat at.

Why are bins that are not plastic swing lids (I have a very curious toddler) between £100-200???

All I'm looking for is a very small footprint recycling and rubbish bin, preferably one on top of the other. Why is that so hard 🤦🏻‍♀️

what sort of bin do you want? Argos have quite a range for well under £100! Or it's Amazon Prime day so that might be worth a look.

Longevity is what you get from a pricey bin, along with a great warranty often. I paid £50 sale price for a Brabantia touch bin back in 2005 and it’s still going strong, now kept in the garage for OH’s rubbish out there. When the lid catch broke, they sent me a whole new lid at no cost.

I paid £220 for a Brabantia Bo twin recycling and general waste bin, which I struggled with price wise, but it’s attractive, works well and fits perfectly in the space I keep it. I’ve had it 7 years now and it’s still like new. If you can afford the initial outlay, a good bin is an investment that should last many many years.

I had the same problem (right down to the curious toddler) and refused to pay it. We cleared enough space to mount a small bin on the inside of the under sink cupboard so that the washing powder etc still lives there but the (cheap) bin fits too.

Tiktok shop! I got a pedal bin with 3 different bits for recycling for £40 and they had lots of stackable ones too. Just search recycling bins
