Pain in this spot when I press

Feels tender, like a bruise. After pressing down here about 30 seconds later I can feel the pain in the same place on my back. What could be causing this ? Before anyone shouts at me, yes I am contacting the doctors Monday. I’ve been noticing intermittent mild stabbing pains here for months now, but only just noticed it hurts when I press there.

Appendix? Call 111 for advice

It’s the one quadrant where there aren’t really any major organs, so could be the stomach or small intestines or a hernia? Any bloating? Other symptoms? Any diet changes? Burping gas’s etc?

it’s kind of below the pancreas, away from the gall bladder too low for liver and away from the appendix and unless an ovary has migrated etc for sharp pains they are the usual suspects.

Other things to consider is potentially bruised ribs, have you been doing any exercises, accidents? Etc could be muscular as well.

I did think could it be my ribs but it is definitely below my bottom rib.

It’s so weird, sometimes it may start stabbing when I’ve eaten, but sometimes it doesn’t. Also when I drink something it may start up for a few seconds.

I do have chronic constipation

O usually always feel bloated but I also have pcos. Can be windy.

In which case could be a blockage? Obviously see the GP but maybe up fluids and laxative for 2 days in aw eeek see if you can get everything moving?

So I’ve just been cleaning a door and now the stabbing pain is constant, does this sound like it could be muscular ?

Now I’ve stopped it’s going off

I would suggest this is linked to your constipation and will resolve after a bowel movement. Try laxatives and massaging over the area in a clockwise motion.

Update - been back to the doctors this morning and have had bloods taken, being referred for an ultrasound and she wants me to do one of those fit tests due to bowel cancer in my dads side of the family. Hopefully nothing scary but really glad I’m getting a thorough check

Glad you got yourself checked out and they're carrying out further tests, hopefully for reassurance. I guess you've trusted increasing fibre in your due?

One poster mentioned your appendix, it isn't anywhere near and would cause pain, on the lower opposite side/across lower stomach - if really serious a high temperature on inside if that leg.

More fibre wouldn’t be a bad thing ! I was thinking of getting the type you can add to water ?

Yes I didn’t think appendix as it’s the wrong area completely
