Am off to Berlin for 4 nights in a couple of weeks with DH. Have got most of the sights seeing planned but I wondered if anyone had recommendations of places to eat - lunch or dinner. DH is veggie but other than that we like anything! Happy to splash out for one special meal but would also like some recommendations for good value places too. Danke!!

thank you! We didn’t make it there but just in case anyone searches for this topic in future, stuff we found out is:

look at set lunches - many restaurants do a fantastic value set lunch, often called a “business lunch”. Facil does a fab looking high-end one but we didn’t get there

We did got to Restaurant Alvis at Hotel Martas and enjoyed that set lunch - v calm and friendly

Also loved Joseph Roth Diele - great atmosphere and traditional German food

Not quite food - but there’s a free lunchtime recital in the foyer of the Berlin Philharmoic on a Wednesday lunchtime

There’s a nice fast food type chain Dean and David doing lots of veggie bowl food type things

Have a lovely time indeed. One of our favourite holidays was Berlin. I spent a whole morning inn C&A as I used to love that shop. We liked it so much we went the next year. We will have to return there. It was 20 years ago. We went to one restaurant and really enjoyed the meal. Our waiter said Wait a minute I will send the chef a message so you can talk to him. We lived in the Manchester area and the chef had done some training there to be a chef .It is a wonderful city.
