Ideas for supporting an active friend during six to eight weeks recovering

Please can you help me come up with some ideas re-what I can do / get for my dear friend?

She’s usually active, on the go, always doing things for other people, likes to keep busy, enjoys exercise, is very sociable.

She’s had an accident that resulted in a broken bone and has now had to have surgery, which means she’s going to be out of action for 6 to 8 weeks. She’s in a lot of pain. And is understandably really fed up.

I’m racking my brains for what I can do/buy for her?

She has an art set that she can do while seated. She won’t want chocolate/biscuits but I will take her some fruit.

One of our mutual friends is a beauty therapist, so I’m sure she’ll be offering to keep her in top shape.

Her husband is retired, so she doesn’t particularly need anybody to do shopping, etc for her as he’s around.

Any ideas gratefully received.

I've recently been sidelined with a break and what helped me was a voucher for gym classes that I could do. I broke my foot, so could still swim and later on do a spin class. I just couldn't properly walk or run (which is how I broke the foot in the first place). I never usually spend money on classes so this was really helpful and thoughtful.

I think we need to know what she's broken, as it's different if it's a wrist, arm or leg. What cant she use, what can she use?

Eg if a leg, she could look at weights for upper body, some chair yoga (look on yiutube). Time to have a digital sort out of photos. Shop around for best deals on household bills. Start a family history tree using Ancestry and or Find My Pass. Counted cross stitch.

Get a pass for NT Live At Home for theatre nights in. Online lectures from National Archives. Catch up on reading (library ebooks with a Kobo). Board games.

Thank you: some great ideas there. She has broken her foot. Badly 😞
