Apologies if there is already a thread. This guy is amazing. He has raised £1000000 towards MND . It is is the most cruel disease.

Agree.
The challenges he has done have been awesome.
The fundraising magnificent, but also the awareness raising.

It is such a horrific disease.

He's a fantastic human being. What a constant friend for Rob to have had all through his illness. I really do admire him.

He's fantastic. What a hero!

I'm well invested in this sort of thing because my DH was diagnosed with MND in the summer of 2025 (his own father had had it 25 years previously).

For my DH it progressed very quickly and he died in March of this year, just 9 months after diagnosis. It had weakened the muscles in his chest so much that he could no longer breathe effectively.

I really thank these sportsmen and their families and friends who are now drawing much needed publicity and fundraising towards this awful disease. Go guys!

This is so badly needed, and will hopefully lead to progress creating more effective treatments. At present the only licensed one is Riluzole, which seemed to have very limited (if any) effects for my DH. He had hoped to join some of the new drug trials that are currently taking place in London, but unfortunately didn't live for long enough.
