Man flu has arrived

2yo DS and I had some horrible viral thing 2 weeks ago. I ended up really run down, with tonsillitis and on antibiotics.

DH totally unsympathetic toward me throughout it, I powered through like always and kept us all fed/clothed and had no time off work.

I am now a week into him complaining about the same virus. He has been off work sick since Wednesday, raided our stash of painkillers, eaten his body weight in custard creams (getting crumbs in our bed!) and making the most pathetic sniffling noises I have ever heard.

Ive managed to avoid him being at work but now have a whole weekend of his snivelling whilst looking after DS (probably solo). Pray for me (or him lol)

actually half tempted to leave DS with him and sneak out shopping/for a very long coffee tomorrow - I have to manage when ill, it would be a valuable lesson

Solidarity Crazy, man flu has hit our normally peaceful abode too.

We are at day 2.

I am a little worried that mild man flu may mutate into ‘smothering by wife with a pillow’, but am holding it together as best I can. Even the dog has had enough and she is usually his biggest ally.

I am taking heart from the idea that we are getting it out of the way, early in the season 🤞

100% go out. Maybe there will be very bad traffic (coffee and cake) at least 2-3 hours

Has the dressing gown of doom not been worn yet? Things are bad when it is brought out. From within its folds a man can look as though he awaits Death whilst his family look on grieving and offering sympathy, drugs, a cool flannel for the fevered brow

Three weeks of coughing and headaches. Coughing got better but then I "exerted" him sending him in the car (?!) to Costco and on foot just down the road to Lidl. Like he is going to check out of autumn, parenting and chores?
