I need help. I currently have a shared calender app on mine and my husband's phone. This is OK but relies on me updating it and setting alerts on it to do things. My kids are getting a bit older and I'm keen that they start taking more responsibility for packing their bags and making sure they have what they need for school. They don't have phones and won't for many more years. What I'm looking for is something like a digital calender with a screen I can have up in the kitchen, and an app that I can share with my husband. But I want it to be ai enhanced so I can send it WhatsApp party invites, emails from school and it will create appointments and send reminders to buy presents, send cards, pack sports bags, take hockey sticks to school when needed. All the things that I hate having to remember. Even better if the ai suggests present ideas and remembers addresses to send cards to. Does such a thing exist???

Do you have android or iPhones? ie, Google vs Apple calendar?

I would expect that either would be able to be hooked up to whatever smart assistant or AI thing - Siri, Gemini, Alexa etc.

So you'd just want a tablet from the same infrastructure as your phones, it wouldn't need to be the latest one, and then you should be able to set it up to do what you want by asking the AI assistant to talk you through setting it up.

I have android, my husband is apple. We have alexa's in the house, some have screens, is there an app that would work across these?

No idea but if you ask Alexa or Google Gemini I bet they would know.

You can get digital family planners (search on amazon) but I dont have one so cant comment on the ai part.

Skylight! Does a bit of everything. Merges calendars, you can set reminders, chores, checklists. Has photos on the screen when not in calendar mode

Skylight. You can take photos of school letters and invites etc and it’ll add them to the calendar and set reminders

Have you actually got one?

I've debated I've for years, Im currently trying to make do with an echo show 15 but it doesn't cut it for a family organizer

I fannied around for years trying to find the perfect calendar for the wall. For the last few years I just have a thing I make myself on Canva and edit it as clubs change etc. Print a bunch and have a new one each week. 5 rows (5 people), 7 columns, 2 extra rows at the bottom for lunch and dinner plans.

Then I write down the weeks’ goings on on a Sunday night, transferring down from the Google calendar each week, the same time that I top up everyone’s school lunch money etc and get organised on a Sunday night.

WAY less faff than white boards, more fucking screens, magnets etc. Just a clipboard and pen and paper. Command hook on side of kitchen cabinet and it has hung there beautifully for a couple of years.

Non-outing photo to explain what I mean!

Yes we have one and we pay the annual subscription for the full package to make life easy. I do think it’s expensive, but we get so much use from it. It took a while to set up with all the kids’ chores tv. But we use it daily for meal planning/shopping, chores, calendars and love the photos!

We originally had an echo show instead but we needed something bigger and more multi-functional

Thank you, it looks like there are some options but not one that does everything.
