My son is turning 9 and having a gaming bus birthday party. I don’t want to do normal plastic tat party bags, what can I do instead? Chat

My DC recently went to a gaming bus party. Kids got themed water bottles with their names on, that they all then take to school to have the same as each other. Must have been pricy, but kids love them. I think it came with multi coloured millions or M&Ms in the inside but can’t remember.

My DC are younger and I haven’t done party bags for the last couple of years. They’re not obligatory.

Lucky dip.

One parent at the door with the bucket of lucky dip. The other the other side with the cuocakes in a tray. Thanks for coming!

Mini figures, bouncy balls, fidget toys, poke mon cards type of stuff but a good rummageable mixture hidden by shredded paper in a bucket.

I just did sweetie cones at that age, felt happier with that than the plastic crap

I used to give everyone socks. It seemed to go down well.

I did sweet cones at 10

Nothing. Start a trend. A "thanks for coming, see you Monday!" trend.

Haven't they grown out of party bags by that age anyway?
