What type of accent is this?

There is someone called Dr Rebecca Williams who is a Professor at Oxford University.

I really love her accent! It’s my favourite British accent!

Do you know what type of accent she has? (You can if you want to search her up on YouTube).

It sounds so refined but doesn’t sound BBC English. There’s a twinge of Manchester there.

Parrs Wood, South Manchester. Same as Lucy Powell but a bit more Oxford.

Just a slightly flattened RP isn’t it?

She sounds like me! South Manchester, but moved away for uni and went south.

I bet she sounds more manc when she goes back up north. My accent is very variable.

Lisa Nandy is also a PW alum. Not that the school has its own accents!

And yes I bet she does slip into Manc when she visits! I do as well.

Why are people saying RP? It’s an adopted Standard Southern with shorter vowels due to her Mancunian origin. Nothing near RP.

Sounds like a soft Manchester accent to me. Not remotely RP or Southern in any way.
