Stain removal help

I’ve got a very old hand knitted with acrylic wool baby blanket which has lots of sentimental value. Unfortunately it has been stored badly and is very stained / marked. I have washed it by hand but many of the stains haven’t come out. Can anyone recommend any products or methods to try and remove the marks?

Acrylic much easier than wool to fix!

Rub Ariel or sim into the stains, leave for 10 min and wool wash in machine. Repeat if necessary.

Try Dr. Beckmann's Stain Devils. They come in different formulas for different stains, but I've found they're not that specific. Start with your best guess as to what the stain is, then try a different one if that doesn't work. Good luck.

I always have success on stains by using neat fairy liquid rubbed into dry fabric then put through the wash with a scoop of napisan if pale coloured.

Thanks for the suggestions. Will try the fairy liquid to start and then move onto some of the other products you have suggested. Have got some vanish so will try soaking it in that as well.
