I've burned myself with hot butter

I work in a restaurant. hot bowl of butter got spilled over my hand, and I couldn't immediately run my hand under cold water because Its a posh restaurant, I was stole FOH at that moment, and I was in the middle of serving a customer. I was wearing my ring, which got hot and made it worse. I didn't scream or anything, just calmly kept serving and ten mins later washed my hand.

now I've had some skin peel off. Doesn't hurt, feels more irritated. It is fine, right?

I previously spilled a similar sauce over my chest (fell on me) and irritated my chest because my underwire got hot then too, but no peeling. this is new.

How big is the burn? It needs 20 mins under cold running water. If it's still recent go and do it now, it will still help.

I would get it looked at op. At the very least get some burn gel and a burn plaster on it.

no it's not fine - it's on your hand and the skin ahs come off. you need a minor injuries unit /urgenr GP if not a+e. shock can also kick in.

when did it happen?

If its recent as OP said go put your hand under running water for 20 minutes. This should be recorded in the accident book at lest.
If skin has come off and its around joints then you do need to see someone also.

You need to get it seen. Your skin is your largest organ and immune system. It was hot enough to make your skin peel, and you aren't in pain which means that it's possibly worse than you think (pain is a good thing with burns). It's also on your hand.

Drape it with cling film - wrap it loosely covering the whole area. Take paracetamol if you haven't already. Go to minor injuries or A&E.

Go +get seen + get ring taken off ASAP before swelling

sorry it wasn't clear -- just the very top layer has come off. looks pink, but doesn't hurt now
