Ideas for a special fifth birthday day out from Manchester

Hello everyone! 😊
My son is turning 5 in October, and instead of throwing a birthday party, we usually prefer to take him somewhere nice and make some lovely memories together.
I'm looking for recommendations on where we could take him to celebrate his birthday. We live in Manchester and don't mind travelling up to 2 hours for somewhere special.
I've looked at so many places, but I'm struggling to decide! He's never been to a theme park before, so I'm not sure whether he'd enjoy it. He's a little cautious and gets scared initially 🤐😂
He loves Spider-Man, cars, LEGO, Bumblebee, Transformers and pretty much everything superhero-related!
I'd love some suggestions for somewhere fun, exciting and memorable for his age.
We won't be going on his actual birthday, but on the weekend instead.
Any recommendations or personal experiences would be really appreciated! ❤️

Have you been to Smithills farm just outside Bolton? I dont know if it is "wow" enough but my kids absolutely loved it (you get to meet baby animals including alpacas and rabbits and chicks) and still talk about it years later. They make their own ice cream too which is definitely worth getting a couple of tubs of (ferrero rocher flavour!)

Have you been to Chester zoo or Blackpool Zoo? Illuminations?

Alpaca farm?

Has he been to the Lego Discovery Centre at the Trafford Centre?

Have you been to Web Adventure land? My nephew went there for his birthday and loved it

You could go to the Lego Discovery Centre at the Trafford Centre, then go for lunch and follow it up with Build a Bear?

If he's into science then I fully recommend Imagine That! in Daresbury or Eureka! in the other direction.

Definitely Chester zoo!

Gullivers Warrington is packed with very low key rodes perfect for that age if you want a theme park, never had to queue much as its nicely spaced out and there isn't much there for kids over about 8 so its not full of older kids

Eureka is a lot of fun! My kids love it there and I have really fond memories of going there as a child

For a theme park I’d recommend gullivers, wheelgate or sundown Adventureland.

Or how about web Adventureland in York, bewilderwood in Cheshire, chester zoo, eureka near Halifax, digger land, Drayton manor?
