Halloween is nearly here - anything scary happened to you since last time? This is my one: DS and I had spent the day in York, somewhere famous/notorious for its hauntings. We were on the bus home discussing the various ghosts that are supposed to reside there when the bell rang for the bus to stop - but there was nobody but us on there. We resumed the conversation, and it rang again. A third time - off it went again, and at that point we changed the subject!

I've told this one before on here, under various names.

Every summer my family would go out of the country and leave me (in my teens) to look after the house and animals. Rural, nobody but me had a key, I never had anyone round as the buses were terrible and there was nothing to do.

I used to make jam with all the fruit from our orchard. One evening I was washing all the jars and lids but couldn't find enough lids for the jars I had, so I put all the lids I had got onto jars and left it till morning.

Came downstairs in the morning and there was a neat pile of lids beside the jars- and inside every jar I had sealed the night before was a very big dead spider.

Nope, didn’t happen! 🤣
