has anyone got this horrid virus?

my throat was so sore Monday evening last week. Lost my voice on Tuesday. Felt a bit better on Wednesday and Thursday. Very tickly throat and uncontrollable cough from Friday and now my ears hurt and my chest is raspy. I normally shake colds off quickly, but not this time. I’ve tried lemsip, strepsils, broncha stop. Maybe I need the hard stuff now. Anyone else?

Me! Just when i think i'm better i wake up with a sore throat, ear ache and cheeks (face) you could fry an egg on again 🙄

Three weeks now. Sick of Lemsip.

I had it a few weeks ago and like you couldn’t shake it off. I felt so grim. I didn’t go into the office for 10 days (I WFH before I get accused of being lazy) which I haven’t ever done in 25+ years of working for myself. It’s a nasty one!

Get well soon op and look after yourself. The only way I could get to sleep without coughing was a very strong hot toddy before bed.

I started with something 2 weeks ago.
From being fit as a fiddle, I suddenly felt really unwell, horrendous cough, rattly chest. It got worse not better, and I am so tired all the time.
Last week I dragged myself to the Dr's...it's bronchitis, but she was a bit worried it could turn into pneumonia (I was shocked). Anyway, she doubled up a course of antibiotics, and am now on my second course of the same antibiotic.
Thankfully the cough is easing.

Husband caught it a few days ago. It looks horrendous. Feel better .

I work in a call centre, so need my voice

I've been shambling around in dressing gown and slippers since Thursday

Still not right, still have no voice and embarrassed I have to call in sick tomorrow

My teen DD has had something very similar last week.

Horrible sore throat on Mon and Tue and had to be off school. She went back from Wed but developed very nasty cough. It’s easing up now but she is still coughing (although getting looser). I told her just to rest up this weekend so hoping that’s helped.

I started on Thursday feeling rough with the tickly throat etc and headache.

dragged myself through Friday and felt worse.

tested positive for Covid yesterday and I’m really rough
