Help me to behave appropriately?!

A kind person has bought me that mumsnet favourite, a spa day. I have never been to a spa before! It's a kind thought; am totally up for it - it's just not my usual sort of thing. So I have booked in for a couple of weeks' time. But I am now feeling irrationally anxious about it! Please can someone tell me - how to behave?! What do I do?! I am guessing some sort of reception desk, then a changing room, then... What? I've booked a treatment - how will I know what the time is? Di you speak to other people, or assume they want peace and quiet? What's the etiquette? I have bought a plain swimsuit to wear, and lunch is included. I might as well tell you the name of the spa place just in case anyone knows it - it's the Cambridge Belfry Hotel and Spa.

I've not been to that spa but usually you check in with reception and they give you a robe and slippers. You usually just go a chill in the pool, sauna, steam room for a bit and then go to your treatment at the alloted time, I normally shower and swap to a dry pair of bikini bottoms and have a back massage as my treatment. They usually have lots of nice smelling toiletries in the showers. People just tend to relax and not talk too much. I sometimes take a kindle. I keep my phone in my robe pocket so I can keep an eye on the time.

Thank you. Are there things that people sometimes do which are a definite no-no? And I guess a book is fine?

No conversations on phones or watching something without headphones
I smile but do not engage in any conversation 😀

A book is absolutely fine, and just make sure anything phone related is silent, so air pods or similar

You'll check in and they will give you robe, slippers, and a schedule.

Get changed in to your cossie and robe ( I like to take my own flip flops).

Explore, relax, take a book, or headphones and a podcast. They will have told you where and what time to go to your treatment and lunch. You don't need to change for lunch, robe is fine.

I wouldn't strike up conversation with others, because I don't want anyone to talk to me either. I'm there to escape!

All of the above and especially not making conversation. People are there to relax and not make small talk. Enjoy!
