Feeling down and need to snap out of it

I feel down. I get a bit like this before my period but it doesn't seem to have lifted this time and I just feel quite low and irritable. I'm 43 so I wonder whether it's hormonal or peri menopause or whether I'm just stressed and tired.

What do you do to snap out of it when you're feeling down?

My PMT got much worse in my mid-40s and became PMDD. Eventually I was crying constantly over nothing and having suicidal ideation which I’d never had before. It was the main reason I enquired about HRT, and that sorted it out completely. Was like a miracle.

I go for an early morning walk in the woods and across the fields while things are still quiet & covered in dew. Me time. At the moment that would be about 7am.

I come back cheerful. calm and ready for a decent breakfast which also cheers me up. 😊

@BibbityBoppityTwo Sorry you went through that. It sounds really tough. I'm pretty sure I have PMDD so I'm not unused to this feeling but it usually lifts when my period arrives. It hasn't this time. I do wonder what peri and menopause will do when I already struggle. I hope it will get better eventually!

That sounds lovely @Meadowfinch I do generally find exercise and getting out helps but sometimes I feel like I don't have time. I've just had a long bath because I felt like I needed some me time without anyone talking at me.
