Without googling, do you know what spogs are?

No.

SweatyGibbon · 26/09/2026 18:54

Anything to do with pogs?

GladysHeeler · 26/09/2026 18:55

🔵 maybe

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 26/09/2026 18:56

I looked it up yesterday, after seeing the word on another thread on here. IYKYK!

ThePineappleSeahorse · 26/09/2026 18:56

Ladidahdi · 26/09/2026 18:56

countrylifeorcitylife · 26/09/2026 18:57

I know from another thread 😂but still not sure which one they are tho

Brendayouknowthatyouremuchtoolazy · 26/09/2026 18:57

They were mentioned last night on a thread about liquorice allsorts but I don't know which one they refer to. Never heard of it before and I LOVE a LA.

AvengingAngle · 26/09/2026 18:58

Only because I read that thread about (foul) liquorice allsorts 😄

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 26/09/2026 18:58

I didn't, until yesterday when I googled it, due to another thread.

GlaikitWeeNyaff · 26/09/2026 19:03

I only learned the name recently - love them!

Waitingfordoggo · 26/09/2026 19:07

Yes. I call them ‘the bobbly ones’. My husband loves Licorice Allsorts but isn’t keen on the bobbly ones which is great because I love the bobbly ones but not keen on the others. It’s not that I don’t like licorice (I do), I just don’t really like whatever that fondant stuff is they put around the licorice.

WhatDoRacoonsSay · 26/09/2026 19:08

Absolutely yes.
Blue or pink, iykyk.

Needmorelego · 26/09/2026 19:08

Only because of a thread yesterday although I do think that way way down in the section of my brain devoted to random things this was a snippet of knowledge I already knew.
One of them facts that was there but needed to be re-activated 😂

Offherrockingchair · 26/09/2026 19:10

Generic slang for sweets where I grew up.

InMySpareTime · 26/09/2026 19:19

Yes, because I get bags of spogs from sweet shops. I don’t like liquorice but I do like aniseed so they’re my favourite element of liquorice allsorts.
I feel like the pink ones should be a different flavour from the blue ones but after extensive testing I can confirm they taste the same.

Yes! I was surprised that there were quite a number saying they'd learnt something new, hence this thread

Not before I saw it on the Liquorice Allsorts thread yesterday.
Never heard of the word.

Wonder if it is an age thing or a geographical thing ?
I'm from the Midlands, England.

Not sure they have ever had a specific name.

Have been referred to as "the horrible, bobbly ones" before, but I assume that is just within our family. Grin
