Often when a leader of a country dies, the country goes into mourning and officials wear black and certain government functions are suspended.

In Britain, when Queen Elizabeth II died something similar happened.

But I wanted to know how long ordinary British people kept wearing black for in line with their mourning of her?

How long did you wear black?

Good lord...
If I wore black at all, it was a total coincidence.

Apart fron newsreaders having to chsnge into sombre attire, and certain uniformed professions getting black armbands...

No time whatsoever.

We all wore black the next day at work.

Vanishingly few people will have personally decided to wear black for any length of time after the Queen died. Maybe a few very very keen royalists might have done. The rest of us just went about our normal business. Why do you imagine that people generally “went into mourning”?
