Can anyone identify this recent upbeat dance track with a 70s vibe?

Very vague sorry! Can anyone help...heard a song while in a shop queue today and it's driving me mad.

It's an upbeat dance song that has almost a 70s vibe, but a bit cheesy. It was very catchy and I wanted to dance to it. My teen thought it was a song called Honeypie but I've listened to that and this one was faster and more dancy. It has lyrics sung by a man but hard to make out, quite high pitched.

It is definitely a song that was out in the past few years as I've heard it a few times recently

Do you know any of the lyrics at all? 🎵

Just googled ‘honey pie song’ and a track called honey pie by Jawny came up.

Not really...it sounded like he was saying "main light" but that could be totally wrong 🤣

Yes that's what my daughter thought it was, but it definitely wasn't. This was more of a dance vibe

Which shop was it playing in?

TeacheeTeacherson · 25/09/2026 20:02

‘I just might’ by Bruno Mars?

MrsTabithaCat · 25/09/2026 20:03

Anything by jungle?

SteadyOnThereFella · 25/09/2026 20:07

Some of your description reminds me of Tame Impala. Loser and Dracula would be two recent songs.

I think Myles Kane, Without You has a cheesy 70s vibe, and his voice is quite high pitched. He might have another song in a similar style.

Actually, no- probably not fast enough.

Have checked out all the suggestions and unfortunately not.
It was a very generic newsagent shop.

The beat would be similar.to that song that goes "I like to party, everybody does, make love and listen to the music"...except it's way more recent.

That sounds so similar that I had to listen to it the whole way through to check! But it's not the same one, strange.

I'm now checking out all the Purple Disco Machine songs...it must be one of those....

Meant to say, like this beat?

TheWelshposter · 25/09/2026 22:39

Yes, very like that!

I found it!! By fantastic luck it was playing on the radio when I got into my car 🥳

It's Talk to You by ANOTR and does break into a funky beat like I remembered 🤣

That does not have a hint of a 70s vibe at all

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 26/09/2026 14:45

Pretty Belinda?

dlystrgls · 26/09/2026 14:48
