How do you get watermelon out of cream carpet?!

My silly dog raided the bin and found some watermelon in there, then decided the cream living room rug was the best place to enjoy it 😒

I blotted as much as I could as soon as I saw what he’d done, then used my Vax but there’s still an awful orangey stain now that it’s dried! Anyone got any tips on how to get it out please, or is the rug doomed?

Your best bet is to rub watermelon over the rest of the carpet and redecorate your room to match.

Dr Beckman's Carpet Stain Remover is a wonderful thing. I think it's in most of the large supermarkets, or order online.

If it’s a rug can you put it outside when it’s sunny? That might bleach the stain out.

I was reading a thread on here yesterday of advice and life tips. It was started in 2023 but has been resurrected. Many people were lauding the benefits of spraying hairspray on stains (until it's wet) and saying how good it was for removing them. You only have to advance search the word hairspray to see how often it's suggested for stain removal. Another tip was putting light coloured things in the sun, as the sun has a bleaching effect.
