Crap sleep and perimenopause

I'll be 45 next month and suddenly I've started to have what I think are perimenopause symptoms. Mostly mood swings and awful sleep. What can I do to help these, especially the bad sleep? I feel like I already do the "right" things

  • I exercise daily
  • I take magnesium at night
  • I don't drink alcohol and have 1 cuppa in the morning, no additional coffee or tea or caffeine
  • Screen time stops >1 hr before bed
  • I eat well-balanced meals, mostly veg, lentils/pulses, etc
But lately I shoot out of bed at 2 or 4 am (sometimes have to wee) and I'm just wide awake. Takes me an hour or so to get back to sleep and then I'm often up before my alarm. I'm knackered! I had a sleep study done last year and thankfully no aponoea. I have had more stress lately but the sleep problems are way out of proportion! Falling asleep isn't a problem but staying asleep is. Appreciate any suggestions, it's starting to feel like the newborn days again but without the sweet cuddles!

Have you thought about HRT? Gonna be honest it's not really helped with my sleep but it might help you. However it's done wonders for my low mood.

HRT definitely helped with my sleep (and the restless legs, and the brain fog, and the all-consuming rage).

Ooh an improvement in rage would be lovely! I am unable to take oestrogen, unfortunately (sorry, should have mentioned that in the OP). I am hoping better sleep will also lead to an improved mood 😵‍💫 I can't imgaine going another several years like this...
