Has anyone used insulated wallpaper on a cold external bedroom wall?

My bedroom has two external walls and gets really cold. I'm considering getting some insulated wallpaper for the wall behind my bed because it feels like it sucks the heat out of the room. It faces north and catches the wind which makes it really cold!

Just wondering if anyone has used it and if it does anything?

You can get quarter inch thick styrofoam boards… then put plasterboard over that.. possibly soundproof plasterboard? Then wall paper or plaster over that.., what about the floors? And the skirting? We stuffed rock wool insulation into the flooring our loft conversion..

We had some sort of soft flock wallpaper on our bedroom wall years ago, and it worked really well. Unfortunately it was a cat magnet and they wouldn't stop scratching at it, so when we redecorated it we got something different.

It's rented so I can't do anything structural like making a false wall unfortunately!

I have three cats so that's a good point!

My other option is a huge thermal curtain. Maybe I could do both?

Would some panelling work?

When we rented our shit landlord put insulating wall paper up in our bedroom rather than bother to put in an adequate heating system. The wall paper achieved absolutely nothing and the room was as cold as ever.

I do have working central heating! It's fine when it's on but the room goes cold really quickly.

I would second thermal curtains to add a layer as you mention that anything permanent isn’t allowed. Hopefully a couple of curtain rails would be Ok and when you take them down it would just be a couple of screw holes to fill.
