Realising I’m missing from years of photos with my children

Just that really. I was married for a long time. I then saw who he really was. Everyone thinks he’s lovely. He was very jealous of me. We separated a few years ago. I’ve been doing some organising at home. I’ve realised I have disappeared from all photos with my kids. Just photos of them and him. I feel sick. How am I supposed to get those back. I think he has destroyed them.

Can you ask him? Are your kids adults yet? They might know.

He won’t admit it. Dc are still fairly young so we’re probably in bed when it happened. I work shifts he used to come and stay overnight as I stayed in the family home.

If these are older print photos - do you still have the negatives? Worth a look in the packets.

Can you check the 'trash' or deleted file and see if they are still there?

Or look at the file numbers and do searches for the ones missing, he might have stashed them somewhere. Cameras save the files in numerical order.

Also if you put them on social media they should still be in there so you could redownload them.

Or if you use Google they might be in the main Google photos on 'drive' as it copies them over.

Some good ideas thank you! It would have been a digital camera/old phone. It’s going to be a slow search but I’m going to go through everything and see what I can find. Old laptop and sd cards as well! He remarried and his new wife thinks he is perfect, I dread to think what really goes on!
