What do I need to know about booking a private chef? And can anyone recommend one in Yorkshire?

We are off to the Yorkshire coast in a month for a family break and my parents would like to book a private chef for a night for dinner for us all. I've never used a private chef before. What do I need to know before booking one - and any recommendations for a chef? If it helps it's for ten people and no specific dietary requirements or budget - as yet!

Check out By Molly, she’s great and in that neck of the woods. I’ve had a private chef before, it’s brilliant

Have a look at Dom's Kitchen - he's based in North Yorkshire and very good.

Are you staying in a holiday house/Air B&B - might be worth asking the owner if they can recommend anyone. It's quite common for guests to use private chefs during their stays so they may have a list already.

Oh that’s a great idea - thank you! I’ll check Dom out as well, I’ve messaged Molly.

Thank you both

We used these (husband and wife team) last month near Scarborough.
Not cheap but really worth it. They were happy to mix and match dishes from both menus.
Lovely evening

We've done this a few times on family holidays to the Lake District. They're usually very clear with you about how much setting of the table you need to do and how much space they will need in the kitchen/fridge. Totally recommend it's lovely and in our experience they even loaded the dishwasher and set it going before they left!
