How does the 11-15 Oyster card work for half-price rail fares?

I’m used to the 5-11 which just allows tapping on and off all bus, rail, and tram.

DD has now graduated to the 11-15 card. It entitles her to 50% off rail, apparently. And she’s meant to use it to tap in.

So do I need to buy a paper ticket for her with this discount every time? Then she taps the oyster then the paper ticket? Is there a simpler way?

No / you just put money on the card and when she taps in and out she is charged 50% of adult charge

Shell need to tap out as well.

It will calculate any day discounts too.
